CHICAGO, Illinois – National infrastructure builder F.H. Paschen has earned top national honors in Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) newly released 2026 Sourcebook, ranked as one of only 11 U.S. construction firms to hold Top-25 rankings across all three core civil transportation sectors of Rail, Bridges, Highways.
In the 2026 ENR national rankings, F.H.Paschen ranked as the 16 largest construction company in Mass Transit and Rail, No. 21 in Bridges and No. 23 in Highways. While the upper tiers of national infrastructure rankings are typically dominated by multi-billion-dollar global conglomerates operating coast to coast, F.H. Paschen achieved its national standing by delivering on a range of complex projects across the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.
“You don’t have to be the biggest builder in the world to be among the best at what you do,” said James Blair, CEO of F.H. Paschen. “Every day, we take a lot of pride in rolling up our sleeves and tackling some of the toughest road and rail jobs in the country and the numbers reflect that dedication.”
F.H. Paschen’s heavy civil transportation portfolio includes complex structural bridge replacements, high-capacity highway widening, and transit rail modernizations executed in some of the busiest, live traffic and active transit lines in America.
“Whether it’s laying track along an active commuter line or setting bridge girders over an interstate, these projects keep America moving,” said Tom Cross, Chief Growth Officer of F.H. Paschen. “Our public agency partners hire us because our crews deliver with certainty that other builders struggle to match.”
For 2026, F.H. Paschen’s national rankings as one of the largest construction companies in America include:
- #16 Mass Transit/Rail
- #21 Bridges
- #23 Highways
- #24 Fossil Fuels
- #41 Transportation
- #26 in Midwest
- #4 in Illinois
- #137 overall in United States
