Executive Vice President
Joe manages all Recruiting, Training, and Business Development for our Chicago office in addition to the operations of our Washington D.C office. He first joined the company in 1992, and has moved up the ranks, working on everything from estimating to project management, until he found his niche.
Over the years Joe has had the opportunity to work on some amazing projects. Some of his projects include the Chicago Public Schools and the Chicago Housing Authority.
Today, one of Joe’s favorite parts of his job is recruiting. He interviews all of our future interns, and decides which students are Paschen material. And he can truly attest to our model of growing from within. “We make the investment early on, and now it pays off. I get introduced as that guy who hired me right out of college by some of our top recruits. It is a very rewarding feeling that’s a lot like being a dad.”
Joe too, is always working to get better. He tells all of his recruits “when you stop growing, its time to get out,” and lives very much by that philosophy.
And Joe isn’t just working to develop top talent at Paschen. He has 3 children, 2 of which are building exciting careers of their own in engineering (the other is still in college). He spends as much of his spare time as possible with his family, and stays active cycling, golfing and working out.
Favorite memory at Paschen: “It has been really wonderful to watch some of the recruits we’ve brought on grow and excel within the company. People like Chuck Freiheit and Doug Pelletier, who are now Vice Presidents, we hired 10 or 15 years ago as kids out of college. Watching and helping these guys grow throughout their career is the best part of my job.”
