With the ongoing need for parking in and around the City of Chicago, FHPSNN has tackled small and large parking projects consisting of surface parking lots, single story facilities, and multi story elevated structures. Whether it be a mega elevated structure or small on-grade facility comprised of asphalt, cast-in-place concrete, or precast concrete, we are experienced in delivering the highest of quality parking facilities on time and within budget.

Midway Airport Elevated Parking Structure
Chicago, Illinois

This new seven story parking structure was one of the final stages of the Chicago-Midway Airport Expansion. This project consisted of a 1,975,000 sf. precast concrete parking garage with 6,377 parking stalls, a new revenue control/collection plaza, 165' vehicular bridge over South Cicero Avenue (IL 50), 500,000 sf. of economy parking lots, 3,300 feet of roadway, and a 743,250-gallon underground storm trap retention system.

The main portion of this project was the parking structure. The roadway and bridge were part of an elaborate bus system that was created to shorten the time from remote parking to the airport terminal and increase the frequencies of buses from the remote parking lots and the new parking structure. The new Revenue Control Plaza was needed to accommodate the additional parking traffic due to the new garage.

Wright College Parking Garage
Chicago, Illinois

F.H. Paschen, S.N. Nielsen was awarded the contract for the new parking structure at Wright College on Montrose and Naragansett in Chicago. This new 66,000 sf., seven-story garage sits on the west side of the campus and will contain approximately 1,200 parking spaces plus three elevators, three staircases, and a security office. It is the tallest structure on campus.

The building is rectangular in shape, constructed of cast-in-place concrete with stone precast panels. The exterior walls of the elevator shaft and stairwells are curtainwall, and the east side of the elevator cab is also glass, overlooking the college.

The garage is bound on the north and south sides by two asphalt parking lots containing 28 and 52 spaces respectively with an asphalt road along the south and west sides of the garage interconnecting the three lots. The parking garage site was previously another asphalt lot; there is now seven times as much parking than was previously available.
